“WOW, just THANK YOU! I don’t know if you realise how much I appreciated you on my big day. I had dreamed of this day for YEARS, and if you hadn’t been there to steer the ship, I’m not sure everything would have gone as smoothly as it did. Thank you for ensuring everything was in place, especially since I wasn’t there early enough to give orders. I can’t believe how well it turned out, even though I couldn’t show you where everything should go. The bartenders were so on top of everything—quick, efficient, and eager to help. I also want to give a special thanks to the one waitress who made sure I always had a drink in hand and was happy at all times. Your staff was incredibly professional! I’m not sure if it was our DJ or your lighting technician, but he turned the lights off during our first dance, creating the coolest effect. Several guests told me they got goosebumps—it was so sweet! Please pass along my thanks to your chef as well. Our guests can’t stop talking about the food—the perfection, the craftsmanship, everything. The plates were served beautifully, and those with dietary requirements felt so special, saying their meals were outstanding. From the platters on Friday to the fabulous spread on Saturday, and finally the big finale, all the food was perfect. Willem and I have been to several five-star hotels around the world, and your buffet breakfast was just as good as any we’ve experienced. We were truly impressed! The garden was in fantastic condition—we couldn’t have asked for more. Everything was beyond perfect, and words can’t describe how grateful I am. We’re planning to spend our first anniversary in the Oribi cottage and will finalise the details once we have our year plan in place. Either way, we’ll definitely see you again in the near future!”

I want to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to Brahman Hills for the most fantastic wedding of my daughter Amor and her husband Herb held on 9 December 2023 at the Stables. The precision with which the event was planned and executed was military style without any shouting or screaming. The product which we were charged for is the product that was delivered and more including: 1. The planning and program were followed and all t’s crossed and I’s dotted. 2. The whole event from beginning to end was almost choreographed like a superstar music show- nothing was not thought of or considered. 3. The attention to detail the day prior and on the day that the actual wedding ceremony occurred was exceptional. 4. The most amazing venue in showcase condition 5. The chapel with the most serene and blessed ambiance 6. The three-course served meal with all three dishes warm, tasty, beautifully presented on time with sufficient waiters serving almost a hundred guests. 7. The experience from when the date was finally agreed upon during February 2023 to the day of the wedding were perfect. 8. Requests from the family were considered and where possible were implemented. All of the above would not have been possible without the professional, assertive, and knowledgeable manner in which the executive director Onwaba Gonyora dealt with us as a family. On the actual wedding day when she attended personally and ensured that my daughter’s dress fitted perfectly and that our nerves were calmed by making us do breathing exercises 20 meters from the chapel will remain with me forever. Onwaba’s promise the very first day that we met that she knew what she was doing, and that Brahman Hills shall deliver was the truth and more. Onwaba from us as a family we want to thank you form the bottom of our hearts for making our daughter’s wedding day simply magical blessed and a day we will remember to the day we die. Q&A with Tasmin & Keagan, the winners of our recent R50,000 lucky bride and groom draw 2023. How did you find out about Brahman Hills? I was in search of beautiful wedding venues and came across Brahman Hills on Instagram. I was immediately engaged and started exploring. I contacted Brahman Hills the very next day, and the following week, my mom, baby, and I were driving down from Joburg to spend the weekend at Brahman Hills. I had only visited one wedding venue prior to this. Why did you book Brahman Hills for your wedding? From the moment we arrived, everyone was so helpful and engaging. The staff made us feel welcome, and the second we had a chance to walk through the gardens, I knew this was the place I wanted to be married at. It was beyond beautiful. What was the highlight of your wedding day? It’s hard to sum this one up, as everything from start to finish was perfect. Onwaba and Nicola were by my side from the early morning makeup session until the very end. They honestly made sure that every detail was taken care of the flowers, the food, the music, the venue. Everything was perfect. I honestly couldn’t have imagined a more perfect day. How would you rate the entire Brahman Hills wedding experience? Perfection. The entire weekend was magical. How will you celebrate this win? We are currently renovating our first home together, so a big portion of the money will go into the renovations. A day to remember forever. We would firstly like to start by giving a big thank you to Onwaba. From the very beginning, you listened to our vision and turned it into a reality with precision and creativity. You made the entire planning process smooth and stress-free. Your ability to handle unforeseen challenges (AKA our crazy family and too much tequila ) and you were a calming presence on our wedding day, which allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the joy of the moment. We started our wedding on the Friday with a pre- family dinner at the Stables. The detail of this was absolutely GREAT! We celebrated a birthday, had a spit braai and caught up with our family and friends, We would definitely recommend this to anyone who has family coming from all over South Africa. Brahman Hills took great care of us and made sure it went smoothly. The wedding day started with a BANG! and there was no better way to greet the day than with a good breakfast. The rest of our day was a mixture of ups, downs and in-betweens and the team at Brahman Hills made sure to be there every step of the way. Our choice of Brahman Hills was absolutely perfect. The breathtaking garden, filled with the most gorgeous flowers created an enchanting atmosphere. The Lake House Chapel was an absolute dream come true as well. From the moment we laid our eyes on this supreme property we absolutely knew this is where we are going to say I DO. The culinary experience at our wedding was nothing short of exceptional, leaving both us and our guests with taste buds dancing with delight throughout the entire day and evening. From Canapes to late night snacks there was not a single entree which wasn’t short of exemption. Our wedding day was everything we hoped for and more. It was a day filled with SO MUCH love, laughter, and amazing moments. We wouldn’t have had it any other way! Again a BIG THANKS to Onwaba and the amazing staff at Brahman Hills.

Having postponed their initial wedding first planned for July; Zandria and Kelvin waited no longer; and were our first wedding post hard lockdown, 24th October 2020. Our beautiful couple and their guests the firsts to enjoy the young beauty of our magical gardens that were birthed through the unique time we were in. A gorgeous sunny day; set the tone for the day both Kelvin and Zandria had been waiting for. Rays of sunshine, light and love all round. Zandria, truly a radiant and graceful bride; looked like a dream, literally, in a local designer’s exceptional dress. The morning spent with her dearest glam ladies and dearest mothers, glamming it up in the Spa Bridal room in the Blue Crane Nature Reserve. Joyous tears of joy were shed, as Kelvin and Zandria finally said I do in the breath-taking Lake House Chapel! Oh Happy Day! Bubbles flowed and delicious canapes enjoyed in the magical gardens as the couple cut their macaroon cake with the backdrop of the stunning rose garden! Guests were welcomed into the next phase of dreamy: Zandria’s reception décor embodied natural beauty with a touch of whimsical…fairy lights all round and handing fixtures of fresh penny gum. It looked dreamy and smelt amazing! The food was loved by all, and with bellies full everyone hit the dance floor. However, nothing was more special than watching the graceful Zandria finally have her first dance with her prince charming, Kelvin – another tear drop moment! Man we love love! Old boy’s traditions were honoured, some takkie was scratched and the local favourite song ‘Impi’ was stomped to. The Elder Wedding: what a fabulous, magical and oh so memorable wedding to break into the season of making pretty, and creating harmony, again!
I have been holding on to this email for quite some time, waiting for our wedding photographers as ideally, I would have liked to attach some photos to this email of appreciation. However, our photographer is a bit delayed with editing so I guess I will just send the photographs at a later stage. What a fabulous day the 24 October was! Our family and friends thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful setting, delicious food and the great service that the Brahman Hills team provided. We received glowing feedback from our guests. Although there were some speed bumps (or should I say bare soil bumps) in our way, you made a plan, and we could not be happier with our choice of venue. Onwaba, we cannot thank you enough for your hard work months prior to the big day and on the big day itself. You did a fantastic job in guiding all of us, calming us and reassuring us. We appreciate all your efforts, the attention to detail and willingness to make those subtle changes before and even on the day. Thank you again to the Brahman Hills team for your outstanding efforts as we celebrated our special day with families and friends. I just wanted to thank you all at Brahman Hills for making our daughter and new son-in-law’s wedding one of the best weddings we have attended ever!! Your service was unbelievable, everyone was made to feel so welcome, your attention to every detail was impeccable, the food was great, the accommodation was lovely, every staff members attitude was so positive and professional. From the minute everyone arrived we were treated with such care it was humbling. Every issue raised over the past year in planning was resolved quickly and handled with such care. We were all blown away and have had so many compliments from our friends and family that thought it was just the best wedding they had ever attended as well. You all made it so special and went above and beyond, and we are truly grateful for everything that you did to make it run like clockwork and without any hitches at all. Melissa wore white, Gerhard looked swanky and the venue was perfect. The bride was gussied up for her big day in the dedicated bridal room at the Spa. Meanwhile the groom was given his final polish in a one of our self-catering cottages. 70 of Melissa and Gerhard’s nearest and dearest where ushered to the Chapel overlooking the lake to await the couple and watch them say “I do”. From there, they were offered drinks and mini-pizza hors d'oeuvres while the couple snapped some classic bushveld shots on the Brahman Hills Estate and even had an obliging herd of zebra watch them while they strolled past in their wedding finery! On to the reception party where our Glass House was bedecked in traditional white flower arrangements complimented by soft greenery and romantic mood lighting. Sound and lighting were a go and the speeches and music flowed seamlessly. After a superb 3 course meal described by the couple as “a huge highlight” (win!), the guests were treated to speeches, dancing and log burning fire pits outside the venue.
Brahman Hills exceeded all our expectations. We have always wanted a destination wedding, and this gorgeous gem situated in the KZN Midlands was such a good find. The staff was friendly, helpful and very supportive. Thanks to our two wedding coordinators, Onwaba & Jeanne, our wedding day was perfect and very well organised. The food was a huge highlight for both us and our guests. The venue & surrounding landscape also allowed for breathtaking photos. We are so delighted that we chose this venue.

On behalf of my husband, Brandon, and our two families (Felix ‘s & Scullard’s), I would like to take this opportunity to thank Onwaba and the staff of Brahman Hills for their incredible hospitality. Our wedding day was perfect and a day that we will never forget. Although at first we had some minor hiccups as I am sure every wedding and venue does, Onwaba certainly saved the day. Onwaba is an incredible lady who is clearly very passionate about her job. Onwaba not only put our minds at rest on many occasions, she also assisted us in making decision regarding the décor, food and general running order of our day and I must admit, Onwaba has such good taste. Our wedding guests were treated like royalty from the time they arrive until they left and by the end of the first evening, Onwaba knew every guest by name and how they were related to Brandon and me. This added such a personal touch and made us all feel like VIP guests. By the end of our wedding evening Onwaba was on the dance floor with us all just as she had promised. When Brandon and I arrived at our honeymoon suite, a bottle of bubbly along with a gift (which I am now using in our home) and a beautiful card was waiting for us. Brandon and I sipped on the champagne while we reflected on our perfect day. We cannot thank Brahman Hills for all that they did for us and we are so looking forward to our next visit.

I would like to say thank you to Onwaba Maholwana for her excellent service. I have attended a few weddings, but the service that she gave was amazing. She always made sure the guests were happy all the time and she was very friendly and approachable. She went above and beyond in order to make sure the guests were satisfied. Our waitress, Sne, also did a fantastic job and I would like to thank her for being an outstanding waitress. Everyone at my table was very happy with the service we were given and I just thought I would let you know that Onwaba was truly amazing. When I get married in the near future, I would definitely want her to be in charge.
